Price: £10.99 for 30ml - buy here

Packaging: The bottle is a lot slimmer than the previous two Healthy Mix foundations, which I love as it fits really easy into my makeup bag & is great for travelling.

Does it do what it claims? I've had some really lovely compliments about how good my skin looks when wearing this foundation. Its gel formula means that it glides onto the skin & blends really quickly & easily. The coverage is also really good, I thought it would be very sheer but it covers all the redness around my nose & cheeks & is very buildable. It's actually a great dupe of YSL's Touche Éclat foundation.

Shade: I have shade 51 which is the lightest one available. Because the formula is so light & blendable, it's a great match even for my pale skin. I think in general Bourjois's shades have a yellow undertone which, for my complexion, is perfect & is the best colour match for my skin out of any foundations I've tried previously.

This foundation deserves  - this is a definite 'must have' for anyone looking for a light foundation that gives your skin a radiant glow without looking shiny. I was convinced that YSL's Touche Éclat foundation was the foundation for me but Healthy Mix Serum is a third of the price & actually suits my skin a lot better.

Have you tried Healthy Mix Serum, or any of the other foundations in the Healthy Mix range? What did you think?

Book Review - Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

Synopsis: Nick & Amy have been married for 5 years but on the morning of their wedding anniversary Amy goes missing, leaving a plethora of evidence to indicate that her disappearance is very much to do with her beloved husband, Nick, & unless the mystery of Amy's disappearance is solved, Nick is sure to meet a very nasty end at the hands of the law.

Review: It's been on the best seller lists for ages, but is Gone Girl actually any good? (I've been fooled by best sellers before, The Cuckoo's Calling, anyone?) In short, yes, it is very good. I don't usually read thrillers (I'm a bit of a wimp) but this was so compelling that I couldn't put it down. I loved that the narrative switched between Nick & Amy (neither of whom are reliable narrators - another thing I really loved). Before long you're caught up in a web of lies & deceit, not quite knowing who or what to believe. I have to admit that I was slightly disappointed by the ending of the novel, however I can see how Flynn came to the conclusion that she did.
All in all I would give Gone Girl 4s; it's a 'you need to read this because of it's wickedly clever narrators & then excitedly discuss with your friends over cocktails' kind of book.

Buy from Amazon

Have you read Gone Girl? What did you think? There's a film adaption coming out later this year, with Ben Affleck & Rosamund Pike playing the lead roles - personally, I think it's brilliant casting, but who would you like to see as Nick & Amy on the big screen?

Monday Review: L'Oreal Fibrology Thickening Conditioner

fibrology conditioner
(quick note: I obviously have the German version but in the UK the range is spelt Fibrology)

What L'Oreal say...

A breakthrough in the science of hair, L'Oréal Laboratories have created L'Oreal Elvive Fibrology Thickening Conditioner proven to give long-lasting thickness wash after wash. Hair looks & feels thicker, with visible body & bounce.
A patented ingredient proven to penetrate the fibre and expand hair from within
- Penetrates deep within the fibre
- Expands & increases the diameter of each hair
- Remains in the fibre for a long-lasting, cumulative effect
Price: £2.99 for 200ml - buy here

Packaging: The packaging is the same as all other L'Oreal Elvive conditioners, I do really like the turquoise colour of this range, though.

Does it do what it claims? So far I've used this conditioner 3 times & my hair feels so lovely & soft after using it. I also feel as though it has more body so yes, this looks like it could really be doing what it says on the tin - winner!

Fragrance: This smells so so good. For a day or two after using this conditioner my hair smells so lovely. In the bottle it doesn't smell of much but once your hair is dry it smells delish!

I give this conditioner -  I absolutely love it! My hair is super soft, full of body & smells amazing, what more could you want?

Have you tried this conditioner or any of the other products in the Fibrology range? What do you think?

06 April, 2014

Hello... again!

I can't believe how long it's been since I last blogged :( SO much has changed since the start of the year, here's a quick breakdown of the biggies:

New job! In February I started a new job *woo* I'm now working for STYLIGHT right here in the centre of Munich & I love it! I'm currently working with the lovely Rebecca (who you may know from itscohen.co.uk) & we've been working on some pretty cool things - whilst consuming bucket loads of tea! Did you see this fashion tube map doing the rounds? Yep, that was us :)
I also had the amazing opportunity to be the voiceover of their new TV ad - crazy, eh?

New hair! In January I chopped all my hurr off, 2014: the year of the bob!

I'm also currently looking to move house; after living in our little flat for just over a year we're thinking of moving closer the the centre of Munich - cue stressful times!

I've scheduled lots of new posts to push me to get back into the swing of blogging so keep your peepers peeled for new posts over the next few days :)

Lots of loves!
